And it’s costing the food industry $1 trillion per year. As it is estimated that the world will need 70% more food by 2050, the urgency is clear! Many members of the food industry are committing to the United Nations Sustainability goals 12.3 to reduce food wastage by 50% by 2030 and the front runners have united in the Champions 12.3 allegiance.
Innovative solutions must be developed and implemented throughout the supply chain to achieve this goal. We believe objectively predicting shelf-life of fresh produce and acting on this information will have a tremendous impact on preventing food waste.
